A beanie for your toes

Your super-vented, featherweight road shoes are doing a fantastic job of keeping your feet dry, but the mercury has dropped a few steps, and your toes are feeling a little blue. Pull on the Pearl Izumi Elite Thermal Toe Covers and get back to riding. The Elite Thermal Toe Covers are ideal for chilly training rides when full shoe covers are overkill but plastic wrap over your socks isn’t cutting it.

Here's what others have to say...

It just works (and the price is right)

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size

I got these for use with my mountain bike shoes. I wear a men's 12, and these fit the shoes well, giving me coverage where I needed it, while staying clear of the sole lugs and the pedal cleat. Now I can ride in 45-55 degrees without frosting my toes.

Thanks for the review Will! Very helpful feedback.

Pearl Izumi Elite Thermal Toe Covers

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size

These are especially well fitted compared to other Toe covers. Like most toe covers, they help take the chill off.

Perfect for Florida winters

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size

Cold weather is my kryptonite. So I moved to Florida and I can ride year round. It gets cool here and i have issues with my toes going numb. But it doesn't get cold enough to go with full blown booties or winter cycling shoes.
These are perfect for my needs. They keep my toes warm; i use them when cycling in the 30s and 40s.
I wear mountain bike shoes and use Egg Beaters on all my bikes, to include road. Currently I'm wearing Sidi Drako's in size 42.5. The L/XL fits perfectly and they do not interfere with pedal engagement. I am very happy with this purchase.
It is tangentially noted that I have been caught in the rain wearing these and they offer no meaningful protection in that regard. But they only cover the top and sides of the toe box, not the entire shoe. Since I did not buy these for rain protection I am not downgrading them for their lack of rain protection.
They're great toe warmers.

Excellent for what they are

  • Fit:True to size

Bought off of Amazon, but paid about the same. They're good toe warmers. I've ridden them in mid-20s temps. They keep the toes warm but are only so-so on moisture.

L/XL fits size 45, S fits 38-40 just fine.

  • Fit:True to size

Easy to put on & great toe covers for price.

50 f and Fine!

  • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

L/XL fits perfectly over a 44.5 Sidas shoe. 17 mile commute in 50f. Perfect! Toasty toes and no winter booty weight! The hole fits nicely over a Shimano road cleat.

my first toe covers - can't complain

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size

I don't have anything to compare this to, but after numerous rides without toe covers in the early spring, getting these really saved my toes! no problems yet. fit my bike shoe really well.

good overall, one minor flaw

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

purchased for cooler (not cold, that's different) ride and occasional commuting.

the good/great-
fit is awesome. goo tight fit, not flappy. comes up an appropriate amount on both my road and mountain shoes. fits over buckles and laces no problem

decent warmth. I pair with good wool socks and really just use them to break the wind and cut down on the that chill. they do this very well.

non obtrusive. plenty large cut out for look (my road shoes) or spd(crank brothers on my MTN) style pedals and associated cleats

The only thing i can complain about is the durability. I try to limit walking in my riding shoes and even with that the toe area on these (technically under the toe at the front of the bottom side) is worn through. partially from the tread on my MTN shoes, but if you have shoes that have a raised spot or spots, expect that to wear through quicker.

shoe fit perfect

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

These are the best fitting toe covers I have run across plus they keep my feet warm in cooler conditions down to around 40-45 more towards the 45 degree mark, but warmth is a personal thing. They are a perfectly conformed fit to my MTB and road shoes. Most other brands I have used are a looser fit and they look like crap and ultimately probably don't work as well being a loose fit. I use an L/XL and wear a size 45 sidi.

Prevent foot pain, keep your toes warm

Pearl Izumi USA is based near Boulder CO and they design GREAT cold-weather gear - including arm & leg warmers, gloves, thermal caps, and cycling jackets.

These Elite toe warmers feature excellent fit, fabric, and QC -per usual from Pearl Izumi. Best for riding in 45/50-70* weather.

For temps below 45*, buy a full shoe cover -like Pearl's awesome P.R.O. Barrier WxB shoe covers or heavier.

Fit: I'm a 45 euro in Sidi and Shimano, the L/XL fit perfect.

The Pearl Izumi website says: the S/M fits 36-42 and the L/XL fits sizes 43-48.

All reviews should be this helpful!

    Nice Little Fall/Spring Addition

Purchased these and Pearl's PRO version and shortly returned the PRO version. For the price these are awesome, fit just right and just tight enough while keeping the chill off your toes. You can use these to about 45 or so but no colder for me. When it gets really cold in the low 30's I will use these and a full boot cover to fight the chill, awesome!! Would definetely purchase again.

      OK Toe Warmers

      • Gender:Male
      • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

These toe warmers did an ok job when the temperature was down in the 40's, but eventually my toes became numb after a few hours on the bike. I would probably pay more and get a better pair for those colder days.

      shoe covers

Never owned toe covers before, was a little worried about buying toe covers or shoe covers but these do the trick. I live in Texas and the weather isn't too cold but they definately take the chill off during a ride. I am very pleased.

        Better Than Nothing

They're better than nothing, but not much better. These are good for when is barely getting chilly but I wouldn't buy them if you plan on using them effectively below 45 degrees. I went on a ride in about 32 degree weather and couldn't feel anything below the ankle when I got home. I didn't expect to be warm, but didn't think I would be that cold. That being said, they have been fine for days above 45 degrees.
