Protect your knees.

There comes a time in the shoulder seasons when standard Lycra warmers are no longer sufficient, yet fully-windproof tights are overkill. That's why Pearl Izumi designed the Elite Thermal Knee Warmers. Essentially, these warmers provide a greater degree of warmth than Pearl's standard Thermal Lite series, without getting as deep into winter as Izumi's P.R.O. Barrier line.

The Elite Thermal Warmers utilize Pearl Izumi's thermal fleece backing in order to assist in wicking moisture away from the skin. Additionally, relatively high loft feels luscious against the skin, and it keeps your knees toasty on chilly morning warmups. These warmers are also constructed with a slightly tighter nylon and elastane blend that provides your knees with a touch of support in addition to the requisite warmth. And to ensure that they stay in place, Izumi included a silicone bead around each hem. Lastly, you'll find that these warmers feature reflective accents throughout. This way, your visibility will be increased to motorists in low-light conditions.

The Pearl Izumi Elite Thermal Knee Warmers are available in five sizes from Small to XX-Large and in the colors Black and White.

use these on a cold day of riding and it made a big different on keeping my knee warm.

Great knee warmers

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These are perfect! I love these more than the thermal leg warmers because I don't get as warm with these on. Perfect for the cool morning ride. I'm 5'10" and a L fits fine.

Great warmers

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

These fit true-to-size and provide a good amount of warmth. Can be used with long shorts and tall socks or full wind coverage. I did have trouble keeping these up when I wore them with baggy shorts that had a liner - I think with regular tight shorts or bibs, they should stay up fine.

Damn. Yes Please.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

If you're on the fence about these just go for it. They feel amazing, much better than my Defeet Kneekers although they are really toasty too. These go on and off really easily and they have little rubber things to keep them in place.

Thermal fleecey-ness? Yes, please!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I like my gear like I like my men-- tough. I bought the Elite Thermal Warmers because of the brushed fleece inner and have been so impressed with how they feel and the warmth they retain. I haven't used them in really, really, cold weather yet, but in the low 50's and 60's, my knees stayed comfortably warm. I've used these only on mountain bike rides so far and haven't torn the living shit out of them yet, which is a good sign. I'm 5'9", 125 lbs with a slender build and wear a small, which fits well, but I would prefer something just slightly more form fitting the future (I'm a roadie at heart, I like tight clothes). If you are looking for middle of the road price and quality, you can't go wrong with these knee warmers.
