When a jacket is just too much.

Whether it's spring or fall, there comes a time when your windproof winter jacket is just too hot, yet your summer jersey is far from adequate. That's where the Pearl Izumi Elite Thermal Arm Warmers enter the picture. They provide a greater degree of warmth than Pearl's standard Thermal Lite series of warmers, but they don't get as deep into winter as Izumi's P.R.O. Barrier line. Accordingly, they're ideal for the shoulder seasons.

The Elite Thermal arm warmers utilize Pearl Izumi's thermal fleece backing in order to assist in wicking moisture away from the skin. Additionally, relatively high loft feels luscious against the skin, and it keeps your knees toasty on chilly morning warmups. These warmers are also constructed with a slightly tighter nylon and elastane blend that provides your knees with a touch of support in addition to the requisite warmth. And to ensure that they stay in place, Izumi included a silicone bead around each hem. Lastly, you'll find that these warmers feature reflective accents throughout. This way, your visibility will be increased to motorists in low-light conditions.

The Pearl Izumi Elite Thermal Arm Warmers are available in five sizes from X-Small to X-Large and in the colors Black and White.

  • Thermal fleece backing
  • Nylon and elastane blend
  • Silicone grippers
  • Reflective accents

Tight bicep bands

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I have very lean upper arms (female, 5'6, 120lbs) and ordered the small for early morning runs but these were super tight and the band not very elastic and giving (fine if you get a perfect fit). They are fleece lined which I find to be too hot for the recommended 40-60 degrees.... at least in running weather. Maybe perfect for biking in 40-60 degrees. (Yes, yes, I know this is competetive CYCLIST ;)

So Comfy!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

These are the most comfortable arm warmers I've ever used. They have stitches in exactly the right places, and the thermal lining is far more comfortable than my leg warmers (LG) or knee warmers (Sugoi). I plan on buying only Pearl Izumi warmers from this point forward. I burn slightly hot, but used these on 42 mile one way commutes to work in mid to high 30s. I used a long sleeve non-thermal jersey and a merino wool t-shirt. I would recommend these to anyone, especially for the price.

Excellent arm warmers

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have been riding heavily (over 500 hours per year) for the last six years and I have used many arm warmers (90% of my rides). I've used lycra, Swiftwick, Castelli, and this Pearl Izumi. Simply put: these warmers are the best I've tried! They stay put and you feel cozy (under 5-15 centigrade degrees). The red one got pink after the tenth ride. The black is still fine. I use M (1m90cm, 83kg, skinny biceps).

Awesome, you know

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Great QC and fabrics from Pearl Izumi -per usual.

Fit: I'm 5'10" 190 lbs with pretty big biceps. The M was long enough certainly but slightly too tight in the biceps. The L fit me better.
