Elite Tall Socks

The loose-fitting jerseys and baggy shorts that are the hallmarks of mountain biking call for a sock of a different feather. When we head out to the trails we like a sock with a taller cuff, which is one of the reasons we like the Pearl Izumi Elite tall sock.

Naturally, there’s no point in giving up the technical details that separate a cycling sock from a dress sock. Pearl Izumi begins with the Elite Transfer yarn to create a sock that wicks moisture away from your foot, helping to keep you drier and more comfortable. Like other Pearl Izumi socks, the Elite tall sock features the company’s smooth-finished toe to keep the seam from cutting into your toes and reduce bulk inside the shoe.

One of our favorite features of the Elite tall sock is that they are left and right specific. Special ventilation channels will only work to keep your foot dry if the sock is on the correct foot. The mid-section of the sock provides arch compression to support the foot and reduce fatigue on long rides. The cuff is one of the longest we’ve worn, some 7.6 inches.

We also like that this sock is the fact that it comes in four sizes: S-XL, making the fit superior to most other socks. The Pearl Izumi Elite tall sock comes in five different color schemes: plaid, white, black, pinstripe and black star.
