Pearl Izumi Elite In-R-Cool Women's Tri Shorts $89.95
A shade tree for your legs.
Pearl Izumi's Elite In-R-Cool Women's Tri Shorts are your best chance to stay cool during the summer race series. Constructed from Izumi's Elite Transfer fabric with In-R-Cool technology, you'll experience the finest temperature-regulation that Pearl Izumi has to offer.
Unlike common dark textiles, which absorb heat, this material's Coldblack treatment provides a UPF 50+ rating, and it actually reflect the sun's radiant energy. This reduces the fabrics surface temperature, helping you to avoid overheating during hot, sunny races. In fact, Coldblack's founders estimate that this treatment reduces the jersey's surface temperatures by up to 35 degrees Fahrenheit. Furthering this cooling-concept is Pearl Izumi's proprietary blend of nylon, elastane, and polyester.
The resulting engineered knit produces an outer-surface that's textured for breathability, which accelerates moisture transfer away from the skin. By keeping your skin cool and dry, you'll experience both irritation-free pedaling and running in the shorts. And, adding to the annoyance-reduction, a wide, yoga-like waistband has been added in order to eliminate non-pinching a the hips.
Providing a lightly compressive fit that maximizes muscle efficiency, the Elite In-R-Cool shorts' multi-panel design allows you to spin with consistent power. It also ensures that the shorts provide the greatest degree of mobility, which is further enhanced by the Transfer fabric's natural stretch.
For further comfort, Izumi included its Women's TRI quick-dry chamois. This insert has been constructed with variable density padding that's contoured for an anatomically correct fit. This shape provides the necessary support during the cycling leg. However, neither the shape or thickness make it so bulky that it'll interfere with either the swim or the run. The insert, as touted by its name, is also quick drying for comfort post-T1.
The Pearl Izumi Elite In-R-Cool Women's Tri Shorts are available in five sizes from X-Small to X-Large and in the colors Black, Black/scuba blue, and Black/white hex.
