What community has to say
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I commute to work every day, year round in the Portland OR area. So my setup demands functionality and ease of use. I do not want to have to deal with two pairs of shoes, one to ride in, one to work in (business casual) but I can't afford wet shoes (inside) all day from a potential 20 min wet ride in. Other WxB shoe covers I've tried require long rain pants or they let water in from the top. No go. Might sound weird, but most often I ride with knicker-length WxB rain pants (with zip-off legs). Otherwise riding is too warm. But this usually doesn't work with shoe covers because they are really exposed on the leg cuff. These covers are high enough, and can fit snug enough to seal around the leg. Finally, someone solved this issue! Further meeting the requirement of usability is ease of don and doff. The velcro closure at the back and open sole area make them super fast. They go on in about 10s (I timed it) per shoe and off in 5. I've used them for a year now and find no requirements for improvement. Solid product. I'll probably get the roadie version for riding with a cycling specific shoe because while these are great for street shoes, they are too loose fitting for a sleek bike shoe.
I am looking for a shoe cover that will...
I am looking for a shoe cover that will keep my feet dry in a torrential downpour and that is available in a large size (13-14 US; 47-48 EU). These look promising, but a) how waterproof are they and b) do they work with cleats? Thanks
