Description

Smart layering is the answer to all comfort woes.

When the cool wind scours your core, a pleasant ride turns frigid fast. The Pearl Izumi Women's Elite Barrier Vest deflects wind and light rain from your core without sacrificing breathability. A full-length draft flap prevents wind from sneaking in, and a Direct-Vent back panel turns up the airflow when you break a sweat.

  • Semi-fitted cut means there's room to layer under the vest without excess bulk
  • One zippered back pocket for the essentials
  • Elastic hem prevents shifting in flight
  • Packable when the sun comes out

Minimal vest that works as advertised.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Running in the fall and winter in SoCal is mostly a windy affair. The temperatures are mild in the upper 50's to low 60's. This Vest will get you through your and keep you feeling comfortable.

Fit: snug but that means it can double well as a mid layer
Breathability: the back is mostly mesh, so venting is not an issue.
Warmth: it's minimal, but it does it's job of being windbreaker, so you don't catch a chill.

Best wind protection

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Bought this for my lady rider, fit her true to size. Has a easy zipper to use with gloves, large collar to keep wind/cold out. I let her wear my Pearl Izumi vest of the same model - and she wouldn't give it back; so got a smoking deal at Competitive, and now she sports her own :) Looks great and easily pack-able into a Twinkie-sized roll that fits easily into a jersey pocket when it warms up.

Great Product!

I wear this when it's 55F or less.
Very light and fits nicely into one of your back pouches when it starts to warm up.
Fits true to size chart.

Great addition to my bike gear!

great vest! i am 5'9" and 120 lbs. i bought a small and it fits true to size. great for layering over a long sleeve or short sleeve shirt depending on conditions. i have even taken off the shirt underneath and worn it w/ a sports bra when it got too hot! love it!
