Description

Pocket-sized protection

Have you ever wished you had stashed newspaper in your jersey pockets to line your jersey for that chilly descent? Pearl Izumi's Elite Aero Jacket blocks wind, but packs up into a pocket sized package.

Pearl Izumi's Softshell Lite fabric features four-way stretch while keeping you protected from wind and water. Unlike traditional wind jackets that have you feeling like you are wearing a garbage bag, the Elite Aero's form fit, including an extended rear hem and shaped sleeves, contours to your body when you are in riding position. The high collar tapers from front to back so that it doesn't chafe your chin while riding.

While the Elite Aero blocks cold wind, if you overheat while climbing and sweat, you'll be soggy and miserable for the descent. To aide in keeping you dry and warm, Direct-Vent mesh panels allow moisture to evaporate. The jacket is not waterproof, but will keep you dry in a light mist.

The full-length front zipper's internal draft flap, as well as a zipper garage, help to seal in warmth. The jacket features reflective strips for 360 degrees of visibility.

The Pearl Izumi Elite Aero Jacket is available in sizes Small to X-Large and in the colors: Electric blue, White, and Black.

what is the difference between the PRO aero and Elite aero jackets?

Responded on

Dusp,

There are a few subtle differences with these two jackets. See below:

Elite Aero (PLZ1381):
-Semi form fit
-Reflective material is slightly lower on the back

P.R.O. Aero (PLZ0743):
-Form fit
-Longer fuller length draft flap (this garment is slightly longer than the Elite Aero)
-Don't pay attention to the "front view" photos as those were taken while a person was wearing the garment and the tails are not showing due to Photoshop.

Over all the differences are not that major, mainly patterning of the garments as the material selection is very similar.

i thought the PRO was a wet weather jacket while the Elite was just cold weather with minor water resistance.
what i'd like to know is if either one is thermal...?

Responded on

I just bought the Elite Aero Jacket, and it does not have any thermal material. It's very thin, packable, wind-resitant material only.
