Description

Your buddies will thank you.

There is a large segment of the XC population that would rather not wear tights. That goes double for the all-mountain community. For these modest riders of the up and the down there are Pearl Izumi Divide Shorts. Divide shorts are made with a durable polyester shell and ample mesh panel venting, and come with a removable 3D Tour Chamois to take the edge off the toughest days of riding.

Pearl Izumi Divide Shorts have a long, 14 inch inseam to fit nicely over your knee pads. Durable polyester makes up the bulk of the body. This tough fabric won't bind while you ride and breathes well to keep you dry and comfortable. Strategically placed mesh vent panels keep cooling air flowing through your Divide shorts, and a waist adjustment on the back ensures a perfect fit, whether you're riding before lunch or after.

The included 3D Tour chamois pulls moisture away from your skin to prevent chafing and irritation and to allow your body to regulate its temperature naturally. The chamois also provides padding to make long hours of singletrack pretty darn comfortable. Unlike many riding shorts, the Divide short's chamois liner is removable. This has several benefits. One is that you can adjust the fit and look that you want because the short and chamois are separate. You can also wear the short without the chamois liner as just a casual short, or the chamois with another short if your Divide shorts are dirty.

Pearl Izumi Divide Shorts are available in sizes S through XXL and come in Black/Lime or Black.

good shorts for a good price

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I love these the only problem is the bibs pad is too small in the front but other than that i cand spend 7hrs in the sdddle with them on and not get caught on the saddle.I bought a Large and im 6,3ft 220 and they fit fine ...

Overpriced

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

These are comfortable, flow air well, move well, and fit perfectly. My waist and thigh measurements usually mean I have to size up to the point that the leg openings are huge, but not with these! I tried these out after wearing a bib for the past year and a half of riding, and I am really happy with the fit.

I feel that these shorts are significantly overpriced. There might be some high tech fabrics in the outer layer, but the inner layer feels cheap and the padding is completely worthless. It's just very thin padding that compresses all the way with a very soft pinch .... no benefit here. For this price point, I think it's reasonable to expect higher quality padding.

couldn't be happier

I am very pleased with these shorts. I ride in sunny (hot) So Cal, and these ventilate extremely well. Even the included liner short (with chamois) is a mesh-type short. And on that note, be aware that the included chamois is not suitable for standalone wear; it is pretty much see-through. One could still wear any chamois under the Divide shorts, but they would not be as cool.

Also note that the "stripes" on the shorts (more noticeable on the green and black ones), are also see-through mesh. Not a big deal, but I did not catch that when I ordered them.

These are a "semi-fitted" cut, so not really baggy like many other MTB shorts, which is fine with me, because I have taken to wearing a cycling jersey while I ride, and they look good together. Additionally, that means there is not any flapping from the shorts on the descents, and no fabric bunching up on the seat on legs. I am very pleased with the shorts, I will probably get another pair if they go on sale again.
