Description

Comfort on the bike.

For those of us who don’t necessarily have a climber’s physique, or who just prefer a roomier fit for our jerseys, Pearl Izumi has designed the Attack Short Sleeve Jersey. You’ll still get the fantastic performance Select Transfer fabric but have a little more room for your winter belly, if needed.

Dressed in the aptly-named Attack, you can tackle the road with renewed vigor, regardless of whether it is your first ride after a long winter layoff or simply a follow-up ride to last Sunday’s century. Pearl Izumi’s Select Transfer fabric has earned a reputation of setting the standard for moisture management fabrics, largely because it is the foundation for all the moisture-management fabrics used in much more expensive Pearl Izumi jerseys. So you can feel confident that you are getting great technology at a much lower price point, which your missus may appreciate almost as much as the odor protection the fabric also includes.

The Attack’s simple, straightforward cut means that there aren’t useless features that add to the cost, just essential elements that make it a great-fitting, handsome, utilitarian jersey. Easy all-out ventilation has been made possible by the full length zipper that moves like a silky dream, no fumbling with reluctant zips needed. Three back pockets give you places to stuff your whole repair kit, wallet, gel packs and CO2 cartridges. An elasticized gripper on the back keeps the jersey in place, while the usual well-placed Pearl Izumi reflective elements will keep you visible in the dusky hours.

The Pearl Izumi Attack Short Sleeve Jersey is available in a myriad of colorways; including Black/black, Black/white, Black/yellow, Green Flash/black, Screaming Yellow/black, True Blue, True Red/black, or White/black. It is available in Men’s sizes Small through XX-Large.

Here's what others have to say...

definitely a fan now

My first PI product and will definitely use them more down the road. Fitment is spot on and the quality of the shirt is first rate. The moisture wicking is a definite plus and keeps you cool during those summer months.

First jersey - Great!

I've been biking for most of my life for fun and recreation, mode of transportation, etc. However, I've always had a mountain bike. Just got my first road-ish type bike (it's a commuting bike with more of a road tire than off-road tire) for commuting to work. Though I enjoy biking for fun and exercise around town, on roads, and on paved trails. I never thought I'd get into bike clothing though, as I've always thought bike clothes were really tight and not necessary. That is, until a co-worker who bikes a lot strongly recommended padded shorts/pants and a breathable top (among other things). I have to say, I'm 100% glad I invested in it. TOTALLY worth the money, hands down!

This jersey doesn't fit skin tight, but isn't flopping around in the breeze either, which is EXACTLY what I wanted. It's a great fit to keep me cool, but isn't so tight I feel uncomfortable (physically and mentally). It's just long enough so it doesn't ride up too much and the shoulders and arms fit very well. I've only had it a short time and haven't washed it many times, so I can't comment on how it holds up in that regard.

For reference, I'm about 6'1", 165 lbs, with a body type on the slimmer side. A size LARGE fits me very well. I went for the screaming-yellow color for visibility on the road. It is bright, but I don't think it looks too out of place with other jerseys I've seen worn by other riders. Many riders I've seen wear bright colors like this bright yellow/green color. I'd rather be seen by drivers of cars than look out of place.

I'm thinking about getting a second one of these jerseys I like it so much.

Good jersey

Except for a couple of snags, it's come out as good as new from repeated wash and wear. The fit is perfect for me (L: 175 lb / 5-10)

Appropriately snug

I'm just now getting into cycling, riding on bike paths and some on the street. I was looking for something appropriate to the hobby/activity and more form fitting; baggy t-shirts get you by for only so long. Honestly? Wearing cycling gear makes you feel like you're a bit more in the cycling community and has made me more confident when around other riders. That fact gets me out cycling more often.
Cycling is my weight loss activity of choice. I'm currently 275 (and 5'11"). The XXL is really snug, but doesn't make me feel embarrassed like a couple of jerseys I tried on at my LBS. I'm still pulling down the front from time to time over my slowly disappearing belly, and as such still wear a sleeveless base layer, even on overly warm autumn days (hopefully not by next summer). I've matched it (the black/black) with blue arm warmers or a colored long sleeve compression shirt under on cooler days and gotten compliments on the look. When I'm confident enough for road rides I'll opt for the green or yellow for more visibility, but for now the black is a mental comfort thing.

You can't REALLY go wrong with PI

I don't like to pay list, and even on sale this stuff is expensive, but I generally feel I get my money's worth. I like the colors (I have 4) and the pattern, and the full-zip gives me options from my morning to my afternoon commutes. One thing: its label says there is a hidden "sweat-proof" pocket. Either it's hidden REALLY well or it's not there.
