Ride all winter. Uphill. Both ways.

Winter riding is tough. Cold weather leads to sluggish muscles, and if your legs are frozen, you're not moving, which is why Pearl Izumi made the ultra-toasty AmFib Men's Cycling Bib Tights. Designed to fit, wick, and breathe like it's race day but insulate like you're on an arctic expedition, the Amfib has all the warmth you need to turn icy training rides into comfortable missions.

The AmFib is made from a blend of Pearl's Elite AmFib softshell and Elite Thermal Fleece fabrics. Thermal Fleece, which constitutes the back panel, handles thermo-regulation and moisture wicking, while Amfib softshell has been incorporated in key areas to keep out light precipitation and wind. The two fabrics coordinate effectively, so much so that Pearl Izumi gives the AmFib tights a thumbs up for weather conditions as low as 15 degrees. In case you're concerned about the tights getting too balmy at the recommended 40-degree limit, you can ventilate from an opening at the top of the waist — though its main intention is for easy natural breaks.

Sub-freezing riding is hard enough without unnecessary discomfort, so Pearl Izumi integrated its Elite 3D chamois into the AmFib. The chamois uses variable density padding that's been pre-shaped to enhance blood flow. Its breathable, four-way stretch material creates an abrasion-free surface that conforms to the body as it pulls moisture away from your skin.

While a comfortable chamois is a necessity for winter base miles, nothing guarantees comfort like a precise fit. To ensure this, Pearl designed the cut to allow full articulation during cycling. The lower leg also follows a contoured shape that leads to an integrated stirrup and a gasket that allows the tights to be worn over shoe covers. Not only does this streamline and secure the fit, but it eliminates gaps to reduce heat loss. Additionally, the AmFib uses a breathable, but warming, mesh upper and bib straps, and Pearl also added 360 degree reflective accents for safer night riding.

AMFIB tights - excellent

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

Have been using these commuting to work, in 3 degree weather and they are excellent. A little too warm when the temps are above 35.
Great fit. Highly recommend these!

AmFibs tights!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: large

These are my 3rd set of AmFibs in 24 years. I miss the bottom zipper on the leg cuffs of my old ones. I am 5'10, 168lbs and the large was the size for me. I find I needed long underwear underneath in temps of 10-25 degrees. My other two pairs of am fibs , one tights and the other bibs as well but no chamois have served me well as I hope these will. I am not sure that the material is the same as my older pairs. I do like the chamois. The lack of zipper makes putting on just a bit more work but the feel and comfort is worth the effort, but if I find a pair with zipper I will buy them. The boot strap and gasket is not really necessary with my 45north boots.

Perfect winter tight

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

After trying out several other bib tights I finally found the one that's comfortable as well as warm. Being 5'6, 160 lbs, 31" waist, 40" chest these fit perfect for my medium build except maybe 2" long but not an issue. Have rode in them numerous times in temps of 30 - 58 f and plenty warm. Probably ideal temps for these tights is sub 50f down into the teens. By far the best tights I have used due to their freedom of movement and the amazing wind protection they provide in the most important areas (front of legs and groin). Perfect winter bib tights for the cool damp and windy coast of New England.

super confortable bib tights

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

this is my first pair of bib tights I. bought them based on my liking of the PI elite bib shorts. the fit is really good except they are a little long but the excess can be folded in and under. I purchased to allow me to extend my riding season through winter and so far down to 35deg they have been great. I'm going to purchase a lighter weight pair for early spring and fall use. The elite chamois is great. good padding and zero pressure points. all day (or at least) 3-4 hours of comfort. highly recommend. 4 stars just do to length.
