Knowingly drop weight.

Building a project bike is always a blast, and criteria #1, of course, is choosing the very lightest components money can buy. When the time comes, the Park Tool DS-2 Tabletop Gram Scale will become your new best friend. It can handle weights up to 3kg (~6.6lbs) and will display results in 1g increments with an accuracy of +/- 2g (aka 0.07oz or 0.004lbs), and can show weight in g, or oz. It has a 5.5" x 5.5" metal weighing surface ideal for your rough & tumble shop environment, and its oversized LCD display is easy to read even in low light conditions. It has a simple-to-use zero/tare function, and it includes the 1 CR2032 battery required to power it. 1 year warranty.

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I wouldn't consider myself a weight weenie, but do appreciate being on the lighter end of the spectrum without compromising performance. This useful little scale provides a pretty accurate idea of weights at a fair price. It's compact and stores well in the drawer of my workbench.

That said, if you want absolute precision, this probably isn't the right product for you.
