The bread n' butta of tools

Keep one at arm's reach at all times in the shop. This is the one tool I couldn't live without. For more precise work, use a real Bondus allen key, but 99% of the time, you just found your best friend.

favorite speed-tool

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Not perfect for every job, but adequate for most. I hate the idea of multi-tools, but this is one of the few tools I swear by in my kit. The ball and flat ends are both good options, ball often better for odd fits.

Great for most jobs

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Be careful with some bolts. If it is beginning to strip do not use this tool. I've found it isn't the tightest fit and can cause more damage. However, for the majority of my jobs, this is my go to tool.

Here's what happens when you use the spherical-end Park Tool on aluminum hardware...I don't know why they even make aluminum hardware.

Responded on

...not the tool's fault there.

Responded on

Didn't say it was the tool's fault there...simply that using the spherical tool on aluminum was not a good idea. I learned that the hard way.

Recommended Use: screwing ;)

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This tool is the best one out there for the price. 10 bucks or less wherever you find it, no frills, comfortable, works well, gets the job done, and durable. A definite must have for anyone who does even minor adjustments for stems, seats, some pedals, etc.

However, don't get this one confused with the one with the spherical heads on it. I have that one as well, and I'm less than pleased with it. It lacks the surface area on the inside of the bolt/wrench interface, leading to stripping much more easily.

Get this one.

Great tool

Very useful tool, take it everywhere I go, easy to transport,
very solid and durable, don't hesitate to buy, you won't regret it

Makes tinkering that much easier

Great tool that everyone should have. I used to just use my multi-tool for any bike tinker that I needed to do. If you've ever used a multi-tool you know how much of a pain they are to use. Now that I have this tool tinkering on my bike is that much faster and easier. I'm more inclined to dial in my bike just right because its easy. Before I would just leave things as they were because it was too much of a hassle. Solid tool!

Make life easy

nice addition to a basic multi-tool - just much quicker and better

OK, but not as good as the Cutter Y-key.

Functions well, but not as comfortable as the Cutter Y-Key which I purchased at the same time.

Required

I wish I came up with this idea. Great tool, I take it with me on each ride and I use it a lot. The material is durable compared with other brands. The plastic will not crack and the steel doesn't wear out easily. I have two now.

Must have!!!

Never leave home without it! The 3 most popular sizes needed. better grip and tork than a heavier multi-tool. Keep one handy!!!

not a fan

i dont use this tool much. prefer the L shape or T shape hex wrenches. seems like the stem is about the only place that has adequate clearance for this tool.

Get it for the balldriver

I haven't compared it first-hand to the Pedros or Cutter Y-wrenches, but it's solid enough for me. I chose it largely for the ball driver, which I find really useful. It's a lot stronger than the allen keys on my multi-tool, so this lives in my Camebak.

solid tool

Quite literally, it's a three-sided allen wrench. However, because it's three sided, it has an ergonomic feel and that allows you to get a decent amount of torque without worrying about losing the grip. Mine has not really shown any signs of wear but I probably don't use it as much as most people. Personally, I'm a fan of Park Tools due to their reliability and this tool is no different.

Does the job

I own this wrench and have the pedros version at work. Hands down the pedro version is a more solid wrench and will last longer. Get the Pedros!!
