Comfort in a creme.

We've been told we don't embarrass easily, especially when it comes to cycling-related habits. We shave our legs religiously, wear more spandex than a gymnast, and don't usually think twice about a quick nature break alongside a busy road. However, we've heard stories of friends who were too embarrassed to walk into their local bike shop and buy a tub of chamois creme, comparing it to buying a dirty magazine from their local convenience store. It's really too bad, because Paceline's Chamois Butt'r Creme worth whatever perceived embarrassment it may cause.

Chamois Butt'r is made from all natural ingredients with no perfumes or dyes. Its creamy texture reduces friction and fights bacteria that can lead to saddle sores. Chamois Butt'r also provides a cooling sensation, but unlike the Eurostyle Chamois Butt'r, it won't give you the distinctive tingling sensation. If basic, no-nonsense chamois creme is your preference, then Chamois Butt'r fits the bill nicely.

Paceline Products Chamois Butt'r Creme comes in 4 ounce tubes or an 8 ounce jar.

  • All natural ingredients
  • No perfumes or dyes

Don't leave home without it

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Must have for any real ride. Just a dab will do it.
Pro Tip: don't shake your buddies hand, or grab a handful up snacks without washing up after application.
Pro Tip: get the little packets for reapplication on longer rides.

Keeps the chaffing down

I got back and forth using this as well as Dz nuts, both get the job done for me just fine. This one doesn't have the tea tree oil scent that DZ nuts has though.

Gets the job done. Period.

If you're not using chamois cream...stop being an idiot! Give this stuff a try. With backcountry's return policy, what do y'all have to loose? It'll keep the saddle sores at bay and make everything much more sterile down there.

Thanks for the review Sterling! Super helpful to get this feedback out to the community.

Good all around chamois cream

Great cream for short to mid-length rides. Video review and chamois cream shootout below.

Put this stuff in your crotch

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I had not ever had experience with chamois cream, being a mtn biker. But I have been training and recently completed a 200+ mile 1 day ride and it would have been impossible without this stuff. If you are going anywhere further than 50+ miles, put this cream in crotch or you will be hurtin'. This def kept the undercarriage relatively hurt-free

Can't do without it

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This stuff is great. When I first start MTB I didn't use this, but now I always apply before a ride.

It's not really helpful for rides under 10 miles, but anything over that, your rear will thank you. It's the only cream I've tried, but feel like it's the only one I need.

Pros: Not greasy, not smelly, doesn't stain clothing.

Cons: Forgetting to put some on.

Mmmm Butt'r

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have not tried a wide range of options, but compared to no pre-ride treatment, this is great. Cuts way down on short-rub irritation.

Don't worry, I'm not adding a photo of it in-use.

Keeps things running smoothly down there

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

What can I say? This stuff keeps your business from pinching and chafing. It's really more of an issue for longer rides or wet rides but it does the job well, isn't greasy, cleans from a chamois with no residue, doesn't have any odor and is cheaper than other brands. Can't go wrong!

Awesome!

Works great. It makes every pair of bibs even better. Even my swanky Castelli or Capo stuff. I put a thin layer over most of the chamois. It really makes a difference on long rides.

just a dab

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I just throw a dab of this on when I'm getting dressed before a ride to reduce friction. I'm a MTBer, but on some of my longer rides, especially the long, sustained climbs, it helps. I've never felt the need to apply a bunch of it, apply it to the chamois itself, or to reapply it during a ride, but I can see where the roadies might need or want to.
