The ODI Ruffian Lock-On Grips are perfect if you have small hands or simply prefer small diameter grips. The file tread pattern ensures a good grip, even if you get sloppy in the mud. And if you feel like minimal grips offer maximal control, it doesn't get any more sensitive than this in a lock-on style grip. The lock-on cuffs guarantee the grip won't move until you want them to. They come with clamps, hardware, and end plugs. They also come in two lengths -- standard 115mm and SRAM for twist shifters.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The Ruffian is an awesome grip. The little micro bump traction is great(even without gloves too), but if you're riding 3-4 times a week, they start to wear faaaaaast!

The lock-on clamps keep them clamped on without any slippage. Easy on, easy off. It's all about the lock-on's!

Cult classic

I like these so much, I installed them on my ski poles. Really one of my top three grip designs of all time, and certainly the best compromise of comfort and durability. I ride gloveless pretty much exclusively, and for me, these are a winner.

Former Favorite

These were the only grips I would use for the longest time on all of my bikes. I have since went to a wider/squishier grip on my trail bikes for all day comfort, but these still find a home on my dirt jumper.

Like a fine wine, Ron Burgandy, or a beard, they only get better with age. People sometimes question these grips when they take them out of the package, but after a seasons worth of use, the rubber starts to slightly break down, and the grips become sticky and perfect. The only reason I do not use these on all my bikes any longer is the plastic sleeve. I have went back to non-lock ons for a better bar feel and less rigidity under my hands on the trial bike. Great also for women, smaller hands, or someone looking for one of the thinnest lock-ons on the market.

Wicked grips

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Coming back to mountain biking after a several year hiatus (8), I heard about the advantages of locking grips. Decided to try them out as I was getting tired of slipping grips on the trail. Not to mention they look sweet. Really glad I did. They grip like mad, and they don't budge at all. Super solid, look great, worth the money. Definitely recommend over stock grips.
