how can i get a replacement for the top strap (in white)? the plastic teeth have begun to strip and are hard to lock in and out through the caliper.

Very nice shoe for the price

I've got a couple pairs of Northwave shoes. I love them. A $40 shoe that fits like a glove; very light and airy; and has higher end features like the S.B.S.?

I wish they had more or the contact pads for walking (or just unclipping at signals), but grip cleats help there.

    Great shoe.

Been riding this shoe for a while now:
S.B.S: Works fantastic, may feel a bit dodgy when you first get your hands on it but it does a wonderful job and is as strong now as when I first strapped in.
Airflow: Again works great, so great in fact I might be looking for some shoe covers this winter(I am predicting frostbite if I decide I am brave enough to road ride in these this winter)

Lastly I have a high arch in my foot and the shoe is still able to give me a nice amount of comfort without having to add any type of sole support.

Sizing seems to be a bit on the larger side for some reason and feels a bit on the wide side.

      Hot Shoe

Like wearing a feather on your foot with the security of a vice . I am now the biggest fan of Northwave and will not buy any other shoe !! I was unsure of the size I needed and asked the Realcyclist rep Mitchell P. for some help. He told me what size to go with and they fit like a glove right out of the box and are getting better with each ride !! Realcyclist IS the place to shop!!!!

Update. just got the 42.5 and they too seem small. Toes are still touching the ends of the shoe. Third time a charm? 43 is a full size bigger than what I normally wear being a 9 1/2 US or 42 on their charts.

Just got the shoes and am sending them back. I ordered a 42 which the chart shows is the 9 1/2 equivalent. I wear a 9 1/2 in all my shoes and the 42 is tight so I would say order a 1/2 size larger than the chart shows. Will update when I get the next pair.

So why would you give a poor review on something because of the sizing chart? Why don't you wait to get the right pair and then review it on its actual merits, you know, the stuff we readers actualyl care about?

i agree with sami. most people would rather complain about their own decisions rather than learning how to read a shoe chart. simple here it is. european size charts are based on numbers such as 44 or 44.5 .it is universal to europeans. but americans dont understand that.. i dont even know my american shoe size . but my euro size is 44.5 no matter what brand... it always fits and it fits good. end of story bet you dont know your euro size.

I agree totally with you. I also have purchased this shoe from another source (N@$^bar), and there is no sizing chart. I went to the actual Northwave website and to research what size I should buy (US 13), and was directed through the sizing chart to purchase the 47 (to include the 1/2 sizing). As what Cic2982085 is saying, I fortunately do know my Euro size (46) and have many shoes according to this sizing that fit great, but also according to cycling shoes from what I've read your are to go a half-size bigger. That's is what I did at that previous source, so I purchased the 47, once they arrived they were right on my big toe. I tried working with it, but if one thing is wrong on the foot it leads to other issues (sleepy foot, etc.). I've had the great pleasure in coming across them on Realcyclist at a cheaper price, I do like the weight and the style of the shoe so I purchase the exact same shoe, but this time in a 48 and I know it's gonna fit like it suppose to and the rating that I would share is 5 stars. I think people need to be informed concerning the sizing, because everyone doesn't have the time nor money to repurchase a shoe or even have to continue to return it, when they have done their research to buy the correct sizing the first time. Good Day to all Cyclist world wide!

how are they with wide feet & high...

how are they with wide feet & high instep

I wear size 11.5 EEEE. I tried the 47 and it fit like a glove but it was a little constricting but seem okay. However, I decided to get the 48 and we will see how that goes. I tried the northwave shoe on at a Sport Basement and I am thinking the 48 will do just fine. I did get a pair of the Diadora Aerospeed in a 47 and those shoes fit my feet perfectly. I tried the Diadoras fit at my local Performance Bike Store and would have bought them there, but those folks running that store are so rude. Anyway, I think is a great place to shop.
