I like this shoe. Would def compare this to the specialized BG pro series. I had to go up a size (i wear a 9.5 shoe) as it was a little small and narrow. NO big deal. they get me places...
Love everything about them. I have worn Sidi and Addidas road shoes before and always been a 43.5 or straight up 43. I ordered these is a 44 so I would have room for a heavier sock as I dive into cyclocross this fall. I use these with Crank Bros Candy SL pedals and the fit with that is perfect with no sole trimming necessary and the foot plate on the sole does not slip if I am not clipped in making it work great for those short transitions in cyclocross where you really don't want to waste time clipping in. Not only are these a perfect size for my need but the wider toe-box is so comfortable I will likely be getting Northwave road shoes this spring. Huck-n-Roll shipped a quality product at a incredible price.
These shoes are comfortable and ideal for any MTB rider. I chose these over the carbon soles for a purpose. Carbon is for the road with its extra stiff soles. With a MTB rider your expected to do some hike a bike or walking at some point. With the stiff but forgiving soles of the Lizzard, you get both. I do 12/24 hour races and some are a LeMans style start where you have to run upto a mile before you mount your ride and I have found these perfect for such a task. I am an eastcoast rider and have found the carbon soles uncomfortable on the rocky and rooty trails while traversing after a mechanical or get off point. I highly recommend these to anyone. As for fit, I went by the northwave chart and chose my size. Would wear a 43 in Sidi/Gaerne/Diadora, But with Northwave a 42 fits perfect.

Write your question here...I wear a U.S. size 13 D, and usually that's a 48 or 49 in European size, but on your chart it seems to be smaller, so would I order a 46 in the Northwave BLSBS? and how do there widths run since I have a wide foot???
Great shoe, but sizing appears off
The shoes are awesome; they look great, and they fit great with the use of the velco and ratchet straps. This makes for really efficient energy transfer to the pedals.
However, it was difficult finding the right size. I normally wear a 12.0 - 12.5, and I had to order three pairs before finding one that fits (almost). I started with 45.0 and 45.5, but they were both too small. The 46.0 is a much better fit, but still not perfect for my feet. I have narrow feet, but the shoes still feel narrow in the front.
I could not be happier with my experience with this awesome company. Every detail from my phone order to receiving my product before stated was perfect. I will not bother wasting my valuable time elsewhere, not when I can receive the best products and fast service with incredible pricing these guys offer.
The Lizzard S.B.S Mountain Bike Shoes are a perfect fit. The quality easily surpassed my expectation's. I am a loyal customer no doubt. Keep striving for excellence HUCKNROLL team, possitive word of mouth is a great reward!
Online sizing chart accurate
Got these from SAC. Great price. Used online sizing chart - great fit. They run a little wider than I expected, so I just fasten them tightly. Good stiff sole and they look good too. Like the ratchet system on the top fastener.
Good price great shoes, they have a very stiff soles
which is great but i think that their sizing chart is off
you should take a look to any of your shoes at home. they all have a chart inside and you follow that chart better i'm size 11 on nike and on nike's chart I'm size 45. On Northwave chart size 11 is 44 so I got the 44 and it was to small so I took a look to my other sneakers and I got the 45
For me they are a little narrow of a fit, but I've abused them for a season and they still hold onto a pedal. Some of the spikes have fallen off the bottom, but the upper is intact and functioning well. They are easy to take on and off with the buckles.

anybody have any more information on how Northwave's Fit. I am probably in between a 43.5 and 44. I have some older shimano 43s that kill and are way to small. Just tried on some shimano 44's and they were doable but a little big.
I'm consistently a 10 1/2. My Northwaves are a 43 and my Shimanos are a 45, which matches both of their sizing charts.
These shoes fit great, they have a very stiff soles & the cleats actually grab well when running uphill in the mud! And let's not for get the price! If you're looking to buy a new pair of MTB shoes, these work really well for what they are.

Interested on finding out how wide the shoe is in comparison with other cycling shoes. the average shoe tends to be a bit narrow for anyone with a wider forefoot.
I find them a little narrow
I find Northwave's to be similiar in fit to Sidi's, so yes they are on the narrow side.
In comparison to other brands i've used, Specialized and Pearl Izumi seem wider.
they run small
These appear to be great shoes out of the box. Beware, however, I had to ship mine back and buy a full TWO sizes bigger than my usual shoe. I usually wear a 11.5 and had to go up to 13.5.

1. Anybody have opinions on how true-to-size these run based on the sizing chart? (ie does size 41 really fit like an 8.5?)
2. How are the width of these shoes?
They run a bit small. I usually wear a 10.5 had to send them back. Got an 11.5 and they are still a bit snug.
