Are you looking for even bigger challenges now that you've done a few marathon length events, or even raced the Leadville 100? Considering 24 hour mountain bike races and need a good sturdy light for that? You could hardly hit a sweeter spot in terms of price to lumens ratio than with the NiteRider Pro 1500 LED Light. With an astounding 1500 lumens on full blast and a possible 30 hour light time, you will find this is one of the best systems to get you up to speed for all night riding.

NiteRider has more than doubled the lumen output from the previous years models by partnering with Cree, specialists in LED lighting advancements, to develop a proprietary emitter for NiteRider's mega powerful, heavy duty lights. NiteRider shapes the beam by combining two independently housed LEDs and reflectors. One reflector acts as a "spot" while the other facilitates a "flood" effect. As both settings can be customized to your desired strength and effect, the lamp gives you nearly endless options for managing the type of beam that the lamp will throw off. And you can manage and define your beam with the Do-It-Yourself software that comes with the PRO 1500 LED Light.

The software makes it possible for you to tailor the beam to your ride. Since you need different beam strengths for different sorts of riding, you can use the software to customize up to four program options to be available at your finger tips as you ride. Are you using it for commuting on city streets after dark and want to be as visible as possible? Then you can program the lamp to be beamed at full max. On the other hand, if you need a lamp to work for you during a 24 hour mountain bike race, then you use a second program to lower the lumens out-put and count on the lamp to keep your trail lit for several hours. This level of flexibility turns the NiteRider PRO 1500 LED Light into the answer for any demanding night riding situation.

Nite Rider uses a 6-Cell Lithium-Ion battery. Lithium-Ion batteries have become the industry standard by virtue of their excellent energy-to-weight ratios and slow loss of charge when not in use. This means that you won't have to worry about running out of juice too rapidly as you ride or if it stays on the shelf for days at a time. The rate at which the power of the battery is drained when in action hinges on what setting you dictate for your beam. It can run anywhere between 2.5 hours to 30 hours. NiteRider has also incorporated a quick release system for the battery. This means that it will be a very simple procedure to unlatch it in order to stick it into the recharger. A simple 4.0 hour stint in the recharger docking station gets you ready to head out for another early morning, late evening, or all night excursion. The entire system weighs 605 grams.

The NiteRider PRO 1500 Light comes with a helmet mount and a handlebar mount which will fit bars up to 31.8mm. An extension cable is also included so that you can carry the battery in your backpack while wearing the lamp unit on your helmet.

  • Comes with both helmet mount and handlebar mount (fits up to 31.8mm)
  • Quick-release battery system lets you pop the battery off for quick recharging
  • DIY software lets you customize the settings and set up different modes of operation for different situations
