If you've spent any time commuting, or are disciplined enough to get out for early pre-work rides, then you've probably gone through some trial and error to find the right bike light. With regards to lifespan, reliability, durability, or beam strength, it's tough to find a light that meets all the criteria for your purpose. With the Mako 5.0 Light, NiteRider has developed a light that will make the basic commuter's life loads easier, and it's bright enough for marathon mountain bikers too.

Using advanced technology that has been developed in conjunction with the LED lighting specialists Cree, the NiteRider Mako 5.0 offers a .50 watt LED that can run for 50 hours without a battery change. And if you like to set your headlights to flash, you can stretch this duration out to 100 hours. Just imagine your piece of mind knowing that the likelihood of your lamp dying in the middle of your ride home is slim to none.

Since all NiteRider lights are intended to make you as visible as possible, the Mako makes the best use of its small size by emitting a red light from "gills" along the sides of the lamp. This will mean that motorists can see you even when coming at you from an angle. At just 165 grams, you'll hardly notice any added heft to your training or commuting machine. The Mako 5.0 runs on two AA batteries, which are included with the light. There will never be any question of being able to find replacements, which can be a pain when mini lamps are using special batteries. The NiteRider Mako 5.0 is a great light due to its small size and self-contained nature. Plus, it will flood your cycling path with plenty of light to ride safely without soaking up all your extra funds.
