NiteRider Mako 200 Light $0.00
When the sun goes down and you're rushing across town to a friends house, the NiteRider Mako 200 Light will light the way for safe passage. Unlike most entry-level lights that're just bright enough to make the overly-cautious motorist aware of your presence, the Mako 200 light illuminates a visible path while adding to your safety.
Using a Cree LED bulb, the Mako 200 light broadcasts a wide, 200 lumen beam across the road so you can avoid hitting fallen branches at full speed. With two steady light settings and a strobe setting, it's a breeze to dial in the best output level for your ride. And since lateral visibility is just as important as frontal visibility, NiteRider installed 'gills' on both sides of the light body to emit red light on every setting. The Mako also comes equipped with a handlebar mount that can accommodate bars up to 31.8mm in diameter.
The NiteRider Mako 200 Light comes with two AA batteries and weighs approximately 165g.
- One Cree LED bulb
- Runs on 2 AA alkaline batteries (included)
- High, low, and flashing modes
- 200 lumens
- Water-resistant casing
- 31.8mm bar mount

Initial Impression.... Great!
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I've only used this a handful of times so far, but it's enough to form an initial impression of the light. I bought this because I'm new to road biking and didn't want to drop hundreds of dollars on a fancy headlight. I can't speak for the long-term durability, but it feels like it's going to last a long time. It's very bright, and had a few modes to choose from. I do a lot of winter riding, so I like the big button on the top, it works well with gloves on. The light pivots so you can adjust it left to right if you want, and has vents behind the bulb to dissipate heat. Overall, this is a great light at a great price.
Great Dollar-to-Lumen ratio!
Its a perfect commuter light. Good price for such a bright light. It has a dimming feature which is nice for when you're on a street that is lit and you don't need to run the batteries down.
It's also very easy to take off of the handle bar mount so you can bring it in with you when you lock up your bike or are not using it.
I highly recommend NiteRider.
I've got two
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I've got two of these guys- They're awesome for my morning commute. I use them so i can see the road, rarely do i pass any cars where i would use the strobe. the batteries have been lasting- been 8 months and i haven't changed batters. Good stuff! shine nice and bright and light my path- even good enough for speedy downhills on the gravel.
