NiteRider doesn't believe your budget should limit your safety. Easily one of the best values in the bike light market, the NiteRider Mako 150 Combo combines the company's best-selling Mako 150 headlight with the Cherrybomb 0.5-watt taillight, making for a seriously bright combination at a seriously good deal.
The Mako 150 uses an LED bulb to broadcast 150 lumens of light into a wide beam across the road or trail. It has three light settings for varied riding situations — high, low, and flashing. And since lateral visibility is just as important as frontal visibility, NiteRider installed "gills" on both sides of the light body to emit red light on every setting.
For the Cherrybomb taillight, NiteRider incorporates a multi-directional collimator to focus the light from the 15-lumen LED and to disperse it to the sides of the rider as well as the rear. The reflector even functions to maintain visibility when light is off, just in case.
The NiteRider Mako 150 Combo requires batteries for operation (two AA for the front, and three AAA for the rear), which are included. The Mako weighs 175 grams while the Cherrybomb weighs 82 grams, with maximum running times of 120 and 100 hours, respectively (in flash mode; approximately half of these times in low-steady mode). Both lights are bike-mounted, while the taillight has a clip to be optionally mounted on a saddlebag or backpack.
