When one ring met many cogs.

Though its primary identity is a singlespeed suffering machine, the CYA bottom bracket in Niner's flagship singlespeed frame can also accommodate SRAM's latest and greatest one-by drivetrains — a combination that we couldn't resist. We've spec'd the One 9 RDO X01 Complete Mountain Bike with our own curated blend of gear. There's the X01 workhorse shifting, of course, but we also threw in SRAM's new Guide RS brakes and a set of Mavic wheels for a build that's solid enough for daily abuse but spirited enough to pin a number on come the weekend.

The bike's one-by drivetrain is a simplified version of the usual double and triple setups, but the frame goes in the opposite direction. Far from simple, it's the product of extensive computer-based finite element analysis that fed into the development of a high-modulus carbon fiber structure with optimized weaves, layups, and tube shapes. We admit that this computer stuff isn't terribly sexy, but the results are undeniably attractive as the process ultimately produced the lightest Niner to date.

The frame's flowing, graceful tube shapes are definitely sexy, though, and they put the One 9 RDO in the running for prettiest Niner to date, too — but they aren't just for looks. Instead, the tubes are designed to minimize chatter and guide impact forces to the strongest parts of the frame. Chain torque goes directly to the rear wheel via the oversized CYA bottom bracket shell and shapely chainstays, yet trail vibrations are quelled by the swooping seatstays. Niner ties the bottom bracket to the precision-enhancing tapered head tube via a large down tube to ensure the frame tracks true and responds to every input, regardless of whether or not those inputs come in the middle of a race or a casual bikepacking trip.

Hello,
Can you give me a price estimate for a full rigid ss Air 9 build?

Hey Chris,

I'd be happy to help quote you for a build! If you wouldn't mind reaching out to me at 801.204.4547 or at cojohnson@backcountry.com I can get a bit more info on exactly what you're looking for and we'll get you set up! Cheers, Connor

Nice hardtail!

One of the better hardtails out there with a equally amazing pricetag! These are custom builds so components can be added or removed. We can also convert this build to a single speed as well. If you need help or guidance feel free to reach out to me direct.

*** we can also do this build with an Air 9 RDO frame as well. Hit me up for details.

Which year are the Sram X01 drivetrain components?

Hi Gene....these are all 2016 components on the bike including the fork. Its definitely a good deal!

I've put together several single speed packages for this bike as well if that interest you.

    wbranham@competitivecyclist.com.

Please confirm which front shock comes in the configuration listed for $2,999.00.

Hey Gene, the fork this bike comes with is the Rock Shox Reba RL solo air 100mm travel. Don't hesitate reaching out if you have any other questions or anything I can help out with at 801.204.4547 or cojohnson@backcountry.com and I'd be happy to help! Best, Connor

The tech specs are totally different than the picture shows. What are the true specs on this bike.

Hey Mike - You are right that the picture is incorrect, it is of the stock build from Niner. The actual specs of this One 9 RDO are the ones listed and this is a custom build package set up by our Bike Shop so any of the components can be swapped or upgraded. Feel free to contact me directly to discuss your options.

      Is it shipped fully assembled?

      Hey Francisco,

Our Bike Shop builds up and inspects every complete bike before shipping. The bike will come mostly assembled but the front wheel, handlbars, seat and derailleur will need some minor set-up. With 15-20 minutes of work you can be off and riding. Feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions.

What is the model of the fork in this bike?

      Hey Guillermo,

The fork is the 2016 FOX 32 Float FIT4. Feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions or if you want to set up an order.

      Kyle L. - Expert Gearhead

We can switch the fork to the RockShox SID XX Solo Air 120. Give me shout and I will set it up for you.
