This is an option on the Industry Nine Enduro hub. To go from a thru-axle to a conventional quick release, you need the Industry Nine QR Conversion Kit.

Start with the standard 20mm thru-axle hub. Convert between that and QR. Just remove the 20mm end caps—pull them off with your fingers. There's an o-ring inside that adds a little friction. They're not load-bearing, so they don't need to be pressed on. Put on new quick-release end caps, put in QR skewer and you're set. There is a disc and non-disc side to the end caps. The disc side goes from taper to flat lip to give room for the disc brake rotor to be mounted.
