It's good at demanding steep, loose stuff. Anything steep and loose is demanding. Having a tire that hangs on to the ground is a great-confidence booster, and that it adds control is even better. The closely-spaced center knobs keep the gription high when the ground has trouble holding onto itself.

The WTB Dissent Race tire is designed as a downhill/freeride loose condition tire. The race tire has a folding bead, Super Track DNA rubber (53a durometer, best for loose conditions), and a lightweight 60tpi casing. The tread and casing are colored Black. The tire comes in two sizes, 2.3" and 2.5". The 2.3" has a Global Measurement System (GMS) size of 55/60. The 2.5" a GMS size of 58/65. The 2.3" weighs 828g, the 2.5" 935g.
