This new piece in the 25th Anniversary Shimano Deore XT 770 line is a welcome addition. A 20mm thru axle disc brake hub demonstrates that Shimano is watching the industry trends and responding to them. People want 20mm axle hubs, but don't want to pay for XTR or get weighed down by Saint. This hub is 15g heavier than XTR at only a fraction of the price. It even looks a lot like XTR, just without the polished flanges.
The Shimano Deore XT HB-M776 Thru Axle Front Disc Hub comes with drilled for either 32 or 36 spokes. It accepts an axle diameter of 20mm, designed to be compatible with most thru axle forks. The over locknut distance is 110mm. It runs on loose ball bearings and has angular contact seals, and is specifically designed to work with Shimano CenterLock rotors. The color is Black. 236g.
