We described the WTB Vulpine Race tire as a crafty desert fox. WTB grew the race tire to fit on 29er wheels and now it’s a big-ass racing tire that runs fast on hardpack and extends its claws when leaning into a turn. The key to fast running is the knob-free center section, and the key to turning bite are the angled side knobs that hook up real easy.

The WTB Vulpine 29 Race tire is available in 29 x 2.3 only. An XC tire by trade, it works best in dry hardpack conditions. The Global Measuring System (GMS) measure is 50/52, meaning it’s 50mm at the widest point of the casing and52mm at the widest point of the tread. There is an Aramid bead. They use DNA rubber, which has 60a durometer. The casing is 60 TPI. Recommended tire pressure is 35-65psi. Tread and sidewalls are Black. 650g.
