Much like the XTR BR-M975, the Shimano BR-M775 XT Disc Brake Caliper has undergone a number of refinements. The basic design, one-piece forged-aluminum caliper with two pistons, remains the same, but weight has been reduced and oil volume increased for greater stopping power. The look has been updated to match the rest of the XT 770 line as well.

The Shimano BR-M775 XT Disc Brake Caliper provides the option for either Metallic or Resin pads -- the former generally provides long life, and the latter enhances the brake's perfomance by providing better modulation. It is compatible with both the ST-M775 XT Dual Control Levers and BL-M775 XT brake levers. The brakes are hydraulic and run on Shimano Genuine Mineral oil. The design is an opposed two-piston mount. The calipers are made of aluminum and anodized black.

Please note: almost all hydraulic brake lines need to be cut to size before a bike is properly shod with hydraulic disc brakes. You'll need a quality cable-cutter like the Park CN-10 and a spoke inserted in the end of the line to first cut and then de-crimp the housing.
