Shimano Deore XT has three new SM-RT78 CL Rotors. 160, 180, and 203mm in diameter. These are the 160mm or 180mm, which can be used for everything from XC to freeride depending on the size and inclination of the rider.

You might find it hard to believe that a new rotor can make a difference in brake performance. We have our moments of doubt, too, but Shimano engineers have been working on this. They say the new hole pattern keeps the rotor cooler during braking. A cooler rotor keeps the pads cooler and the cooler pads keep the brake fluid cooler. The result is improved performance.
