Knowing that gravity riders often prefer simplicity in their parts, Shimano has designed a special RapidFire Plus shifter to work with Saint parts. We call it Shorty, though it’s really a short stroke on the right hand shifter. For the riders, this means the arms that one uses to shift the rear derailleur are shorter, which results in the shifter being mounted to the outside of the brake lever -- in between the brake lever mount and the grip.
