When you're totally committed to single speed, the conversion kit doesn't make any sense. A wheel build with a freewheel hub is the ticket. Shimano single-speed freewheels have been run on bikes since the early days of the BMX era. They work great?of course, there's very little that can go wrong with a freewheel this simple. Be sure to purchase the freewheel remover with the cog; unless you have BMX bikes hanging in your garage. Otherwise, chances are you don't have this tool.
