As with many tires, this one needs jargon explained. DHF means "downhill front." It’s a downhill tire, first, and it can be used as a front with a Minion DHR or, depending on conditions, as a rear with another DHF in front. 3C is Triple Compound Technology -- three different rubber compounds comprise the tread. The tire has a 70a durometer rubber base layer which reduces knob flex and increases tire life. 40a durometer shoulder knobs grip without rebounding fast. 42a durometer rubber crown knobs help improve braking performance, as part of going fast is controlling speed.
