High rollers like every game. They come in, flash their wad, and throw down in as many games as they can gain entry. They live large. So it is with the Maxxis High Roller 3C 2.5 tire. While nominally a downhill tire, it can tackle all the gravity disciplines with style to spare. Some even let it dabble in cross-country. Hardpack is the atelier where it feels most comfortable.

We’ve ridden this tread pattern for years and liked it a lot. The center tread has both rectangular bars for tractor driving and grooved, triangulated, ramped lugs for a piercing, low-rolling-resistance bite. The side knobs are tall and straight and hold the line where you find it. This tire is also a stayer. It'll stay up and up and up no matter what is thrown at the sidewalls; two ply casing with Butyl inserts in the sidewalls not only resist flats like nobody’s business, but also give great stability when riding lower tire pressures at high speed.

This iteration uses the Maxxis proprietary 3C technology (Triple Compound Technology) -- three different rubber compounds are together in the tread for a high performance symphony. The tire has a 70a durometer rubber base layer which reduces knob flex and increases tire life. 40a durometer shoulder knobs grip without rebounding fast. 42a durometer rubber crown knobs help improve braking performance.

The Maxxis High Roller 3C 2.5 tire measures 26 x 2.5". The wire bead tire is designed to be ridden with tubes. The thread count is 60 tpi. The maximum recommended tire pressure is 65 psi. Black. 1250g.
