Arguably, this is one of the best cross-country rims on the market. Mavic has been building MTB rims since the early days of mountain biking, and here is where their experience shows. The double-wall construction is built not as a box, but as a modified triangle, which increases vertical stiffness, so they can take the overall rim weight down.

The XC 717 disc is available in either black or silver. The silver rim comes drilled only for 32 spokes. The black rim can go either 32 or 36. In both cases, the rim has stainless eyelets for ease of building and years of truing.
