If you're a fan of the Magura Durin, you'll be a freak for the Durin SL. It's the same performance, only lighter.
Naturally, lighter comes at a price. But that price is measured in dollars at the shop, not when descending on the trail. They started by designing a lighter steerer tube for the SL. With that in place, they realized a lighter steerer wasn't enough, so they opted to streamline some adjustability as a way to further remove loose grams. The Albert SL damper replaces the Dynamic Lock Out damper of the Durin race. The Abert SL has the compression and platform set at the factory. As a full-on race fork, the settings are rather aggressive, appropriate for attacking the trail.
The Magura Durin SL fork has either 80 or 100mm of air-sprung travel. Albert SL is the damping technology. The shim stack, rebound and preload are all adjustable. The wheel mounts via a Safety Drop Out (SD), a 45 degree angle, forward facing fork tips that accept quick release axle hubs. The steerer tube diameter is 1-1/8", and the stanchions are 32mm aluminum, wrapped in magnesium lowers with a 6" post disc brake mount. Maximum recommended rotor size is 210mm (8.5"). The crown is forged and hollow 6086-T6 aluminum. The axle to crown length on the 100mm travel Durin is 473mm, with the 80mm, it's 453mm. The maximum tire size that will fit is 26x2.6". There is an integrated hose guide in the lowers. The fork comes with an air pump. Choose between Race White and Glossy Black. Weight is 1380g (3lbs) in 100mm size, 1350g (2.97lbs) in the 80mm.
