Cyclists who started riding before 1986 have at least one hanging in the closet or stowed at the back of their jersey drawer. Maybe it’s sealed in a bag with cedar balls to keep the moths at bay. It’s their first jersey and it’s made of wool. It probably didn’t fit right when they got it, but they loved it anyways, and made sure not to wear it when crashes seemed likely, and lovingly washed it when it was grimy. Ask them. They can tell you about it in great detail. They bust it out occasionally these days, but they don’t do it frequently because they want the memory to last in mint condition, and because they don’t think it’s as good as their synthetic jerseys of today.
Now they can wear wool without fear. Swobo has taken the core belief, that wool is the perfect jersey material, and gone all 21st century with genetically advanced Merino wool and cutting edge fabrication techniques. Swobo’s wool jersey is still all wool and of these times.
This is the update of the jersey that started it all for Swobo. 100% Merino wool from MAPP of New Zealand is comfortable, warm in the winter, cool in the summer, doesn’t stain easily, doesn’t retain odors, and looks good whether it’s freshly laundered or has been to Hell and back and is being worn the fifth day straight. The half-length zipper is long enough to make a difference in cooling, but not so long as to cause the dreaded jersey pucker. The fit is not so slim as to be Euro, but not square t-shirt baggy. It’s just right for those who don’t want to look road while still close enough to perform without bunching or leaving fabric for branches to grab.
Available in Small, Medium, Large, XL, and XXL in Black, Grass, Ocean, Orange, Army, Tree Mud, Mars-1, Cranberry, Blue Note and True Red.
