Giro isn’t shy about admitting that the Giro Xen helmet was inspired by the skate scene. They shouldn’t be. We’ve seen plenty of people who think that skateboarding helmets are sufficient for mountain biking. They aren’t. And since we want people to survive crashing, we’re happy to sell helmets that our customers are happy to wear. The skate aesthetic isn’t for everyone -- these folks argue that mountain biking deserves, and has, its own style. The Xen helmet is a union created by Giro taking the skate-lid style and crossing it with their knowledge of head protection and cooling. As with the E2, the helmet has the comfy RocLoc 4, and an adjustable, removable visor.
