Nathan Rennie has been a dominant force and personality on the downhill circuit for years. A former champion of the UCI World Cup Series, Juniors, and Australia, the Santa Cruz Syndicate icon is known for riding on the brink of sanity, and losing control. He's hucked himself 120+ feet in a Red Bull event and hammered the World's best in UCI events. Pushing the limits defines him and keeps him elite -- not unlike Five Ten shoes. Five Ten has defined rock climbing and bouldering shoes for a decade. Climbers consistently live on the edge, often placing only Five Ten's proprietary Stealth rubber between themselves and the rock they're scaling. That's a supreme vote of confidence.
Stealth Rubber has various formulas for specific applications, but each shares a blend of high friction and high shock absorption. Five Ten Freeride Shoes utilize the Stealth S1 compound developed specifically to enhance the aforementioned characteristics, and produce the most durable sole in the industry. If performance is what you're after, Stealth S1 is what you want.
It seems only natural that Rennie and Five Ten came together on a quest to create the finest freeride shoe available. Rennie's know for his philosophy, "get the right tools for the job," and shoes are no exception. Vibration damping, durability, and protection were high on Rennie's list, but if he was going to put his name on it, he wanted it to be comfortable and look damn good too. Reminiscent of an old school, high-top basketball shoe, the all-white shoe with slight red and black detailing, provides great padding for the ankles against the crankarms, but still allows room for an ankle brace. He chose barrel-style lacing to help prevent "lace bite" on long days in the saddle.
The Five Ten Nathan Rennie Signature Shoe is available in half sizes ranging from 7-12, and size 13.
