We offer the Santa Cruz Nomad in two different pre-packaged complete bike builds. Both are groups we'd ride in a heartbeat, and both provide maximum component value at the lowest possible cost Both result in bikes that are emphatically all-mountain -- long travel, yet light enough to spend a day climbing. The builds are still tough enough to handle the extremes.
The X9 AM 1.5 package is the lighter of the two builds. The shock is the Fox DHX Air, a great position-sensitive shock with a two-position lever for moderating the platform and great overall adjustability. The fork is the Rock Shox Lyrik Solo Air, a 160mm travel all-mountain fork with Mission Control damping and a Maxle 20mm thru axle. The drivetrain features a Shimano XT front derailleur and SLX crank paired with the great SRAM X-9 rear derailleur and X-9 triggers. Braking is provided by the lightweight and powerful Avid Elixir CR Carbon hydraulic disc brakes, again with the 185mm front and160mm rear rotors. The wheels are a nice upgrade over those on the R AM 1.5: DT 5.1d rims, a 500g enduro rim that is both light and strong, mated with DT alloy nipples, DT Competition 14/15 double-butted spokes, and DT 340 hubs. The Santa Cruz Nomad X9 AM 1.5 Complete Bike is available in your choice of anodized colors -- Green or Slate.
The R AM 1.5 build is anchored by a lightweight Rock Shox Monarch 3.3 rear shock. Highlights include a Rock Shox Domain 302 coil-sprung fork with 160mm of travel and a Maxle 20mm thru axle. The drivetrain features a SRAM X-9 long cage rear derailleur, TruVativ Stylo 3.3 crank and X-7 trigger shifters and a Shimano SLX front derailleur. Stopping is provided by the solid Avid Juicy 5, with 185mm rotor in front and 160mm in back. The wheels are striking -- a true mongrel design that are light enough and plenty strong. The Mavic 321 is a bombproof, reasonably light enduro rim, and Santa Cruz laces it with DT 14g spokes and brass nipples to a Shimano XT rear hub and a WTB Superlight thru-axle front hub. The Santa Cruz Nomad R AM 1.5 Complete Bike is available in your choice of powder coated colors -- Black, Red, White, Lime, Liquid Blue, or Yellow.

The Santa Cruz Nomad uses a 30.9mm seat post and 34.9mm top swing top pull front derailleur. The bottom bracket shell is 73mm wide. And, best of all, the right dropout has a replaceable derailleur hanger with a built-in bottle opener to aid in your post-ride recovery. The frame has a two year warranty against manufacturing defects, while the bearings are guaranteed for life.
