We think part of the beauty of the Santa Cruz Blur LT is that you don't have to limit yourself to one style of bike. The Blur LT is all over the mountain: It's light and fast enough for cross country, yet with enough travel to be an all mountain bike that can glide through a rock garden and clean drops like they're kibble. Based on which component package you pair with the Blur LT frame, you can make it more of an all-mountain performer or a cross-country racer. Santa Cruz offers pre-configured component packages the provides you -- out of the box -- an ideally spec'd bike depending on your likes. They've got builds that lean toward an all-mountain bike and toward a cross-country bike. Though the all-mountain build is light enough for XC and the XC build hearty enough for all-mountain. The SPX XC package leans toward the cross-country side of the riding spectrum and is offered in anodized Black or Skidmark only. The lightweight Fox 32 Float RLC fork and Fox Float RP23 rear shock provide damping. It features a full Shimano XT drivetrain -- near XTR performance at a fraction of the price. The brakes are the ever-reliable Avid Juicy 7 with 160mm rotors. The wheels are solid yet lightweight -- DT Swiss XR 4.2d rims laced with alloy nipples and 14/15 double-butted spokes to DT 340 hubs. And the tires are befitting as well -- Kenda's grippy Small Block 8 2.1 folders. The X9 AM build limits color choices to anodized only -- Black or Skidmark. This build has a little flash and a lot of performance. A Fox Float 36 RC2 thru axle fork provides 160mm of lightweight, airsprung travel, providing a perfect match for the Fox Float RP23 rear shock. A TruVativ Stylo 3.3 crankset is at the heart of the drivetrain, and SRAM X-9 trigger shifters and rear derailleur provide snappy shifting, and The Avid Elixir CR Carbon disc brakes provide super stopping power, spec'd with the 185mm front and160mm rear rotors. The wheelset is laced by Santa Cruz, mating DT Swiss 5.1d rims with DT Swiss 340 hubs, 14/15/14 double-butted spokes and alloy nipples. Completing the light hoop set is the Kenda Nevegal 2.35” folding tires. The R AM package limits the Blur LT color choices to one of the six powder coats only: Black, Lime, Liquid Blue, Red, White, or Yellow. It features the Rock Shox Revelation 426 quick release fork, which has one of the best stiffness-to-weight ratios in any standard quick release fork. At the heart of the drivetrain is a SRAM X-9 long cage derailleur and SRAM X-7 trigger shifters for great, smooth shifting action. A Shimano SLX front derailleur give you performance as good as XTR, but at a bargain price. The TruVativ Stylo crank is the heart of the drivetrain. Keeping in the SRAMnation, there are Avid Juicy 5 brakes, which match the Juicy 7 weight at a better price point. Rotors are 185mm in front, 160mm in back. The wheels are a great mash-up. Mavic 321 rims laced via DT 14-gauge spokes and brass nipples to Shimano XT hubs. The Santa Cruz Blur LT Complete Bike has a 1-1/8" head tube and uses a 30.9 seat post. It requires a 34.9mm dual-pull front derailleur. The bottom bracket shell is 73mm wide. The maximum-width tire that fits in the rear is 2.35”. But perhaps our favorite detail is the replaceable derailleur hanger with a built-in bottle opener. No stone unturned.
