Ventana El Cuervo configure/buy El Cuervo

Ventana re-entered the extreme downhill market in 2004 with the introduction of its stealthy big travel flier, Ventana El Cuervo. Thanks to its Romic platform coil shock and Ventana’s progressive suspension linkage, El Cuervo sits low and stable in the turns, eats up rock gardens, and pedals with efficiency when accelerations are in order.

El Cuervo features 9” of extensively mapped, meticulously designed, rising rate rear travel with a low 15” bottom bracket with an '05 ISCG mount. A new flip-flop tab on the forward shock plates allows for two bottom bracket height adjustments to get even lower. 16 oversized double sealed bearings, 15mm bearing axles and a 9 ½” x 3” Fox DHX 5.0 coil shock bear the brunt of the workload. Its triangulated one-piece swingarm assembly has monster 26 x 2.8 tire clearance, a 20mm diameter, and 150mm wide thru axle. Torsional stiffness is provided by load directional, ovalized 6061-T6 aluminum tubing and heavy wrap-around gusseting of the head tube.

El Cuervo features a new Saint compatible drive dropout -- no worries, though, for those of you running a standard derailleur, you have the option for a non-Saint hanger, which simply bolts on to your 12mm thru axle. El Cuervo will be ready for more action than ever, as it receives a beefed up lower swingarm yoke, seat and chainstays, main pivot and downtube. Floating brake options are available for Hayes or Hope brakes at an additional charge of $200.

Electric Sex” welds and Cosmic Grey or Flat Black powdercoat finishes give the Ventana El Cuervo grace amidst its industrial-strength masculinity. For an additional $150 and a few weeks time, it can be finished with any of Ventana's colorful powdercoats -- Red Metallic, Blue Metallic, Electric Superdust, Cosmic Orange, Grinch Green, Army Green or Gloss White. It uses a 1 3/8” (34.9mm) top pull, bottom swing front derailleur and a 27.2mm seatpost. It is available in 3 sizes - Small, Medium, and Large.
