Turner returns to its roots with the redesigned Turner RFX -- a 6 high-performance trail bike with a serious dose of pedal efficiency. Pedal efficiency? It's missing from most of the 6" bikes on the market today, leaving a void to be filled for those us who love to bomb the downhills, but aren't interested in taking shuttles, or pushing a bike to the top of a hill. The RFX touts a super-beefy front triangle with reinforced gusseting at the head tube. So if you dig the rush of a big hit and the challenge of climbing back up to do it again, the RFX is for you.
The RFX touts the Turner TNT suspension anchored by Foxs High Volume RP23 shock, providing the 6 of plush rear travel necessary to clean the drops. The RFX is designed to accommodate a 6 travel front fork and 2.7" tire. Its 6 of travel, tight rear triangle and long wheelbase allow the RFX to corner like it's on rails and blaze the downhills. You can either run a single chainring crankset, or you can equip it with a 34.9mm Traditional Top Pull Front Derailleur to make the climb back up all that much easier. The asymmetrical design and forging process of the chainstays combined with the girder-like forged rockers, provides improved lateral rigidity to the RFX, and adds even more front derailleur clearance. All this is done without sacrificing any of the trademark Turner tire clearance, but shedding 1-1/2 pounds from the frame weight
The Turner RFX is powdercoated in British Racing Green or Bronze finishes in Small, Medium, Large, XL. Or, for those of you 65 +, the XXL size for an additional $200 (which includes your choice of custom colors.) It's a disc-specific frame, and it requires a 27.2mm seatpost. Optional powder coat colors of Bright Yellow, Fire Engine Red, Granny Smith Green, Sparkle Blue, Gold Dust Orange, Gloss White, Semi Gloss Black, Iron Glimmer, Sparkle Silver, Robin's Egg Blue, Charcoal Metallic Blue and Luscious Pink are available for a $100 upcharge and a willingness to wait the 4-6 week expected turnaround. Or for those of you looking for an industrial aesthetic, with a short wait and no upcharge, you can get it raw -- that's right, no finish whatsoever.
