The DHR is Turner’s pure downhill race bike, hence the acronym for its name -- Down Hill Race. The Turner DHR is a long-proven mainstay of the line -- continually refined thanks to the input from pro downhillers such as Colin Bailey, Eric Carter and John Kirkaldie, and it's been the Mongoose Factory Team bike (with different decals of course!) for the last couple of seasons.
In 2007, Turner shortened the DHR's top tube, relaxed the head angle and lowered the bottom bracket to create a more compact, quicker handling, stable rig. An 83mm bottom bracket shell ensures a great chainline with the DHR's 150 rear spacing, resulting in crisp shifts.
The Turner DHR features 8.5” travel and an adjustable, specially valved Fox DHX 5.0 shock. Roller bearing pivots anchor the DHR’s super stable rear end. An internally machined headtube accepts 1-1/8" headsets. Combine these characteristics with a new round tubeset frame design, and the result is an incredibly stiff, tight tracking machine that has zero lateral flex, and shaves nearly two pounds from its predecessor.
The Turner DHR is disc specific, and comes standard with a Maxle thru axle. It's available in a Smoke Grey powdercoat in Small, Medium or Large sizes and requires a 27.2 mm seatpost. Optional powder coat colors of Bright Yellow, Fire Engine Red, Granny Smith Green, Sparkle Blue, Gold Dust Orange, Gloss White, Semi Gloss Black, Iron Glimmer, Sparkle Silver, Robin's Egg Blue, Charcoal Metallic Blue and Luscious Pink are available for a $100 upcharge and a willingness to wait the 4-6 week expected turnaround. Or for those of you looking for an industrial aesthetic, with a short wait and no upcharge, you can get it raw -- that's right, no finish whatsoever.
