The Titus RX-1 is the spawn of a thoroughbred bloodline -- an industry legend, the Titus Racer X. The Racer X has impressed for years because of its pedal efficiency, ride quality and frame weight. Now, let's add value to that list as the RX-1 is a ready-to-hit-the-trail complete bike, at a screamin' deal.

From an efficiency standpoint it sings thanks to its "fully active" Horst link suspension design. A critical distinction with the Racer X design is the fact that Titus forgoes the all-too-common rocker approach to the Horst design. Many companies use a rocker to mate the rear triangle to the seat tube. Titus instead uses a strut-style Horst link design, replacing the traditional rockers with an ultralight three-piece carbon fiber X-Link. Since it uses the shock as part of the frame, this is perhaps the simplest "fully active" suspension design available. And, the absence of rockers reduces the overall weight of the frame. Titus uses clevis-style dropouts with bushings at the Horst link to keep tolerances high and maintain stiffness in the rear. The union of the flex-free design, the fully active Horst Link, and a custom-valved 2008 Fox Float RP2 shock yields a frame that carves singletrack with a noticeable absence of the dreaded pedal-induced bob.

The Titus RX-1 is crafted from aluminum with a triple-butted, hydroformed downtube and all-aluminum swingarm. These shaped tubes and oversized chainstays give the RX-1 a perfect boost of stiffness to maintain its get-up-and-go. Beefy Horst dropouts with bushings further accentuate the stiffness and tracking, making it agile and stable in most any terrain.

The Titus RX-1 helps ease the decision making process, as it's outfitted with quality components including a Fox 32 F100 R front fork, SRAM X-7 trigger shifters and derailleur, Avid Juicy 3 disc brakes, Mavic CrossRide wheelset, Kenda Nevegal Tires and MaXm handlebar, stem and seatpost.

The Titus RX-1 is available in XS (80mm), Small (100mm), Medium, and Large and XL in Surf Blue only.
