Half the fun of riding is the unknown that awaits whenever you hit a new trail for the first time. As we all know, what might begin as well-groomed singletrack can soon morph into considerably more savage terrain. The best trails test all of your skills -- your fitness, your endurance, your bike handling, and your courage -- so it makes perfect sense to ride a bike with an equal span of versatility. The Titus Moto Lite offers the picture-perfect example of versatility -- featuring 4" or 5” of adjustable travel in an amazing 5.8 pound package.
The Moto Lite has matured more than any other frame in the Titus line up over the past couple years, so much so that Titus gave it a "2" designation to differentiate it from its predecessors. For 2008, the Moto Lite gets better once again: First, it comes home-- it's once again made right here in the US. Second, by shifting production to the US, Titus is able to take advantage of a new shaped top tube crafted from 6069 aluminum. The tubing used for this top tube is both lighter and stiffer than the 2007 version. While its shape is hard to see in pictures, it's plenty noticeable and beautiful in person.
The Moto Lite is crafted from aluminum with a triple-butted, hydroformed downtube and seat strut. These shaped tubes and oversized chainstays give the Moto Lite a perfect boost of stiffness to keep its plushness from ever feeling mushy. It utilizes a strut-style Horst link suspension design with a custom valved Fox RP23 shock, giving it an ideal balance of pedaling performance and plushness. Beefy Horst dropouts with bushings further accentuate the stiffness and the trackability, making it agile and stable in most any downhill terrain. The Moto Lite shaves some additional weight via carbon seat stays and rocker link, much like those found on the Racer X.
You can adjust the travel of the Moto Lite on the trail. It's easily accomplished by moving the lower shock mount Allen bolt to its alternate position (5" is the top position, and the bottom is 4"). It accepts forks ranging from 100mm-145mm travel, and it has loads of tire clearance -- it can handle 2.4's without a problem.
The Titus Moto Lite is available in XS, Small, Medium, and Large in Anodized Blue, Mako Grey Ano or Mango powder coat. It is disc specific with a replaceable derailleur hanger. The Moto Lite requires a 27.2mm seatpost and a 31.8mm top-swing, dual-pull front derailleur.
