Titus offers the Racer X in a variety of forms: ti, exogrid, carbon and more. One of the more popular choices is now 29" wheels. The Titus Racer X 29 provides superb traction, fast-rolling characteristics, and stability to spare. This stability is the most dramatic difference you'll feel in comparison to a 26" wheel. 29" wheels allow you to sit "between the wheels" rather than above them, effectively lowering your center of gravity and providing you with better all-around bike handling. We are amazed by this frame's ability to behave like a 26 inch Racer X, yet provide the desired characteristics of the 29.
For years, this frame has only been available in a titanium version, but now, Titus introduces a Racer X 29 with an aluminum front triangle. Like the standard Racer X, you get a strut-style Horst link design, and the traditional rockers you see on a Horst bike are instead replaced by an ultralight three piece carbon fiber X-Link linkage. The swingarm has tapered tubes and a hollow boxed lower forging. A Fox Float RP23 smooths out trail vibration, and you'll feel unparalleled torsional stiffness thanks to its use of four oversized cartridge bearings stacked at the main pivot and aluminum seatstays.
