Motorex Dot 5.1 Brake Fluid $0.00
When many of us started riding mountain bikes, cantilever brakes were the norm, V-brakes were the new kid on the block, and hydraulic brakes were reserved for the rich and famous. But now hydraulic disc brakes are as common as suspension forks, making it all the more important to know how to keep them running smoothly and powerfully. Motorex DOT 5.1 Brake Fluid is a high performance brake fluid designed for use in hydraulic brakes systems that spec DOT 4 or DOT 5.1 brake fluid.
Rule #1 before changing the fluid in your hydraulic disc brakes: consult your owner's manual or the manufacturer's website to make sure you know what to replace it with. Some brakes call for petroleum-based mineral oil, while others spec synthetic brake fluid in one of two viscosities -- either DOT 4 or DOT 5.1. Both mineral oil and DOT brake fluid have their advantages, but knowing which one to use is paramount to protecting your braking system's seals.
With a wet boiling point of more than 356 degrees Fahrenheit, Motorex DOT 5.1 Brake Fluid is engineered to perform well under heavy braking when high amounts of heat are produced. And since DOT 5.1 brake fluid is thinner than DOT 4 fluid, it offers less of a change in viscosity at extreme temperatures.
Motorex DOT 5.1 Brake Fluid comes in a 250ml bottle and is compatible with brake systems that spec either DOT 4 or DOT 5.1 brake fluid.

What community has to say
This works for avid juice 7 brake system
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
Not much to say, other than this particular brake fluid works for my avid juicy 7 brake system. I did a bleed operation on my brakes and added a bit of brake fluid to "top it" off. I ridden my bike a few times since, and the feel on my brakes is SOLID with plenty of stopping power.
