If you're unfamiliar with Morgan Blue, don't worry. Up until now, the Belgian maker of high-end body and bicycle maintenance products was relatively unknown in the States. But with roughly half of the world's top professional cycling teams relying on its extensive collection, it was only a matter of time before it made its way across the pond.

The unmistakable light blue packaging is the first thing you'll notice about Morgan Blue's entire lineup. The second is how well each item actually works. Its range of products is substantial, as every formula it produces addresses a specific cycling application. Such is the case with the Solid Chamois Cream, which was designed for rainy weather conditions.

The composition of the Solid Chamois Cream is slightly thicker than its 'Soft' chamois cream, as the more substantial makeup keeps you protected for the duration of your long, wet races and training rides. The hygienic protecting cream is composed with natural vitamin E and herbal extracts, and it also includes St. John's Wort and olive oil. The blend works to prevent saddle sores, chafing, and skin irritation caused by friction and perspiration during your rides.

The Morgan Blue Solid Chamois Cream is available in a 250cc jar and is manufactured in Belgium.

Good stuff...

This is a great chamois creme esp for rain. I did not realize what it was when I bought it but am happy I did. Its more like a vasoline than a chamois creme. I relegated it to my go-to chamois creme thinking I would hate it. Turns out I love it. I use less product and find it more precise to get to where I like it.

    A great chamois cream

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

As a long time Assos cream user, I have always tried to find something that offers similar performance (for less $). After going through various lines such as Butt'r and DZ Nuts, this Morgan solid cream works really well. It goes on thicker than Butt'r and works well on my long rides. The Assos is so much smoother to spread but I notice around hour six it feels as if it has mostly disappeared. Not so with the Morgan cream. No initial "cooling" effect as with Assos - I appreciate that during the colder months. There are a few other creams I plan on trying, but not until I run out of this jar.

    works well, but

I am a fan of the Assos cream, but tried this based on reviews. It does work well for 2+ hr rides , BUT I can't get used to the waxy thick feel of this "cream." It's not really a cream but more of a combination vaseline - shoe polish like texture. I will return to my favorite.

I've always used Assos chamois cream with no complaints. I wanted to try a cream with more substance for added protection on long summer rides and for hard training rides. The Morgan Blue solid cream has proven to be a great chamois cream especially in hot summer weather. I'd say this cream is about twice as thick as the Assos cream. For my riding style, I only need to apply a small amount of the Morgan Blue on my sit bone area and I've been perfectly comfortable on 2 to 4 hour rides. I've used this with bibs from Assos and Sportful with equally excellent results and no side effects or skin irritation. Some may not like the Morgan Blue solid because this cream contains wax as an ingredient, so take this into consideration if this bothers you.

    Great stuff

I used Assos Chamois Cream for years and loved it until I tried Morgan Blue Soft Cream based on a Competitive Cyclist write up. The Morgan Blue Solid is an excellent compliment to the Soft as it is much thicker and holds up better in key pressure points in hot, sweaty conditions. The Soft is thinner than Assos and the Solid is thicker. providing excellent options to the "one thickness fits all" Assos cream.
