MiiR Insulated Bottle - 500ml $27.95
Giving while receiving - a win, win.
Let's face it, whether you call it providence, fate, or sheer luck, being a citizen of the Western World is a fortunate position to find yourself in. And although the perspective commonly eludes us, our lives are a series of personal choices. And now, in the 21st century, we have the choice to make our purchases count for something other than feeding our wants and needs. That's right, we're talking about investing in a difference. And no, not in the donate five cents at the grocery store kind of way, we're talking about retaining top-quality products like the MiiR Insulated Bottle, while knowing that your purchase will provide one person clean drinking water for an entire year in some of the world's poorest regions.
We understand if you reserve a hint of skepticism, as much of the money from charity-oriented products is horribly mismanaged, and at times, distributed in a down right shady fashion. However, this couldn't be further from the truth with MiiR. With every bottle purchase, every cent of one dollar goes directly to those in need. How? In the forms of both clean water and sanitation projects. But, how can you be sure that your donation is being spent appropriately? Well, after you register your purchase, MiiR will notify you within 6 to 18 months of the location of the well project that your dollar created. Additionally, you get a numbered bracelet with every bottle purchase for reference of your good deed.
Now, the reasons are stacking as to why the MiiR clean water program is necessary. It's estimated that everyday, around 6,000 people die from water-born disease. On top of that, the World Health Organization estimates that nearly half of the world's hospital beds are occupied by people suffering from water-born illness. Altogether, this is the result of 1 in 8 people simply not having access to clean drinking water. This lack of clean water, and the conditions that arise from it, produce a volatile concoction of health and economic crisis. In fact, it's estimated to cost developing countries around $28 billion a year -- roughly 5% of GDP (UN Study). Luckily, your $1 and MiiR's dedication can change these statistics.
Now, MiiR isn't trying to hook you in with a sob story and colored bracelet. The Insulated Bottle is actually a well-crafted, purpose-driven bottle that you would be happy to use anyways. It's BPA free, fits in both cup holders and bottle cages, and it features a one-twist top that easily secures to a carabiner. Every bottle is made from South Korean-sourced, 18/8 stainless steel that's easily cleanable and remains odor-free. Additionally, this insulated version keeps your drinks piping hot for over six hours, and keeps your cold drinks icy cold for over 24 hours. This is possible, because MiiR designed the bottles with a double-walled construction and vacuum-sealed top.
So, you have a choice: Purchase a bottle that benefits do-nothing corporations, or purchase a bottle that will positively impact someone's life for an entire year. Seems like a simple decision.
The MiiR Insulated Bottle - 500ml is available in the colors Matte Black and Stainless Steel.

Is the bottle easy to use while riding w/o spilling? Is the wt. consistent with a traditional bottle like Camelback? Thanks, Randy (Austin, TX)
In my experience, non-plastic bottles don't play well with traditional water bottle cages, especially if you are riding off road. There are some cages that work better than others, but plastic bottles seem to stay put better overall.
Stainless steel at it's finest
Great bottle and great company.
Solid Bottle, Solid Cause
I've been using this bottle for over 9 months now and have been extremely happy with it's performance. The opening is big enough that I can slide some ice cubes inside, yet small enough that I can take a drink Napoleon Dynamite style and not dump water all over myself. The vacuum sealed, double wall insulation keeps things toasty or cool - which ever you prefer. The best part about the bottle though is that it provides someone in a developing community with clean drinking water for an entire year. Can the other bottle companies out there say that? Newp. Solid bottle, solid cause.
