Training for 'cross is rigorous. And while shouldering a bike up stairs right after leaping over barriers sounds crazy, we're right there with you on the course -- or maybe heckling from the sidelines. With a beautiful toil, cyclocross goes from hard to miserable as the season goes deeper into winter. The conditions become muddier while the air gets colder, and more and more, your tire choice becomes as vital as your handling skills. With the Maxxis Raze CX Clincher Tire, you'll keep the rubber side down through everything from mud, cold, and hardpack.
The standout feature of the Raze is its rubber compound. Slightly softer than the compound that Maxxis uses on its road tires, Raze's rubber stays pliable when the temperatures drop for reliable rolling in awful conditions. An improved 60 TPI casing improves cold weather riding by allowing you to ride at lower pressures without compromising any flat-protection properties.
Rubber and casing aside, the Raze CX Tire still rules the course. A fast-rolling center ridge moves nicely through pavement sections while maintaining traction on slippery surfaces. The widely spaced side lugs keep the mud from sticking to your tire like a high school girlfriend. Now, you can make it through the mud pits and hardpack without anything clinging on for a free ride around the course.
The Maxxis Raze Clincher Tire is available in the color Black and in a 700c x 33mm size.
