Description

Slightly lighter than the more expensive 3C MaxxTerra 27.5 x 2.3in tire, the High Roller II EXO Tubeless Ready builds on the, highly decorated original. Maxxis' polymer experts enhanced the all-mountain capabilities in the form of revised tread, an EXO TR casing, and a dual-rubber compound.

It carries over the respected reputation of downhill mastery, easily recognized in the ramped, square braking-edge knobs which dig without forgiving to rearward flex. Complementing that, softer compound side knobs with additional buttressing enhance cornering threshold and bolster traction in adverse terrain. The 60tpi casing, with EXO protection, tips the scales below the two pound mark, and are tubeless-ready.

Tubeless Ready means Maxxis recommends tire juice for optimal sealing with 27.5in UST rims, or the trusty stand in, an inner tube. The High Roller II EXO Tubeless Ready 27.5in Tire is equally happy mounted up front or out back.

Excellent Grip

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I got a High-Roller II to run on the back of my Santa Cruz Nomad, with a Maxxis Minion up front. The HRII inspires confidence in the corners with just the right amount of grip - it holds tight when you want it to, but as soon as you want it to break loose, it does - Very reliable!

As long as you don't spend too much time riding on pavement the High-Roller II wears extremely well.

The Standard of Tires

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is my favorite, all-round, rear tire. It has a perfect blend of traction and rolling resistance. The sidewalls are super tough too and I have yet to flat one.

Does it all

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I usually run tires with less tread on my rear but I'm running this thing both front and back and have never been happier with the grip I'm getting. My riding style is that of enduro so I'm all about that down hill and am not to concerned with the ups as far as rolling resistance goes. However, this tire gives you the confidence to take your brain out and ride brake-less until I'm proven otherwise this is my tire of choice! (I'm running these tubeless and haven't experienced and flats in 5 months of riding.)

All Around Tire

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is a great tire in conditions ranging from dust to wet. The spaced center knobs do a great job of shedding mud and the side knobs inspire confidence in corners. The EXO sidewalls are fairly strong while still being lightweight.

Great tire for the money.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I really like the Nobby Nic, but for substantially less $$, these tires work about as well.
Will be buying more!

Dew it UP!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

After riding fairly bald tires, I slapped these on the ole rig.
WHAT A DIFFERENCE.
I can actually corner now, and I don't feel like sudden death is hot on my heels (err.....WHEELS!)

I'm no expert on the bike but these seem to grip fantastic.
I was able to attempt rock gardens that had previously spooked me. And I even survived a couple of them!
I'll definitely be buying another set once these wear out.

Perfect AM Tire

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I'm a big fan of this tire for AM riding. It rolls fast enough, and the tall cornering knobs give you a well defined and confidence inspiring grip when you get it leaned over. For soft/dusty trails I think this is the way to go. Pair with itself or an ardent out back depending on your preference for traction vs. rolling resistance for a rear tire.

High Roller II up Front

This knobby tire is perfect to run up front on a trail/AM rig. Grips well in the chunder, but rolls freely on the smooth buffed trail. I'm a fan and would recommend this tire.

Is the rubber compound 3C or 60a?

AJAP55310,

This is the 60a compound tire and not the 3C.
